INTRODUCING SCHOOLHOUSE APARTMENTS…

The Schoolhouse Apartments are located in former Public School 16, which is at 939 Delaware Avenue near Bryant Street within the Delaware-Linwood Historic District. Constructed in 1899, on the same site as an earlier school, School 16 was operated by the Buffalo Board of Education until 1976, when it was permanently closed. The United States Department of the Interior and the New York State Department of Parks have both cited Schoolhouse Apartments as being a major contributing building to the Delaware Historic District. Also the school has played a part in the education of many prominent Buffalonians. School 16 Associates purchased the building from the City in the 1980’s and developed it.

The Schoolhouse has now been renovated into 26 one and two bedroom luxury apartments. With its historic background and creative adaptation, Schoolhouse Apartments has become a residence of distinction. The old and the new have been blended together to create an elegance compatible with neighbors like the elegant Campanile Co-op units and the exclusive Saturn Squash and Dining Club. Dramatically high ceilings, variated floor levels, individually metered furnaces with central air conditioning, and unique architectural features have created interesting spaces. Private, enclosed secure parking is well light at night and allows guests to park with security. Many of the special features of the building and apartments are as follows:
